FOOD RESOURCES

Illinois Department of Human Services:  IDHS: Cash, SNAP & Medical Assistance (state.il.us) .  Apply for SNAP benefits here. 

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families:  IDHS: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) (state.il.us)  This program provides temporary financial assistance for pregnant women and families with one or more dependent children and can help to provide financial assistance to help pay for food, shelter, utilities and expenses other than medical. 

CHILD AND FAMILY CARE

Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) | IECAM (illinois.edu)   The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) provides subsidies to low-income families for affordable, quality child care.

HOUSIng and utilites resources

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program in IL:  Community Action Agencies (illinois.gov).  The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides cooling, energy crisis, and low-cost weatherization/other energy-related home repair assistance to low-income households to assist with winter heating bills, and to provide help for some families who have received utility cut-off notices.

Homelessness Prevention and Assistance:  IDHS: Homeless Prevention (state.il.us).  This program provides rental/mortgage assistance, utility assistance, approved case management and approved supportive services directly related to the prevention of homelessness to eligible individuals and families who are in danger of eviction, foreclosure or homelessness or are currently homeless.

Transitions of Western IL:  Adult Mental Health / Recovery | Transitions of Western IL (twi.org).  An IL organization with services are hope-filled, recovery oriented, and designed to help those with a mental illness reach their goals and dreams and live meaningfully in our community.
